MACC Arrested Senior Manager over Bribe to Approve Govt loan

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested a senior manager with a government subsidiary in Kuala Lumpur for allegedly receiving a bribe of RM72,000 to facilitate a company’s approval of an RM5 million loan from a government agency.

After providing his statement yesterday at around 6 o’clock, the 53-year-old suspect was taken into custody at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters.

The managing director of the business is said to have given the bribe to the suspect, according to a source.

Under What Section is MACC Investigation taking place

Anuar Ismail, the director of Putrajaya Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, confirmed the arrest and reported that the suspect had been released on MACC bail.

According to him, the case is being investigated into in accordance with MACC Act Section 16(a).
